Gerard Estrella

A product of the University of the Philippines College of Business Administration, Gerard Estrella spent 10 years (2005-2015) in North California marketing to the Filipino-American sector as publisher’s representative of ABS-CBN Publishing and then as North America representative of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He was co-founder of Rush Remit, a digital remittance platform for Philippine banks in the US. He was also a part-time lecturer at the City College of San Francisco’s School of Journalism. He was part of the pilot program of the Facebook-Google joint venture Google Wildfire at their Mountain View campus. Upon his return to the Philippines, he became the CEO of the digital platform of The Manila Standard. Aside from overseeing operations in Ubuntu Studios, he manages the company’s relationship with its content platform partners such as BBC Studios and Netflix Asia.
